ENGL 1302 Taggett: Home

This guide has resources and tips to help you with assignments in Prof. Taggett's ENGL 1302 course.

Welcome to your class research hub

Hi, everyone! My name is Jane Stimpson, and I am your class librarian.

Why is a librarian in your D2L page? Because the Lone Star College libraries and librarians support three of the five ENGL 1302 course goals:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of individual and collaborative research processes
  • Develop ideas and synthesize primary and secondary sources within focused academic arguments, including one or more research-based essays
  • Apply the conventions of style manuals for specific academic disciplines (e.g., APA, CMS, MLA, etc.)

Librarians are professionally trained to help students:

  • Use the library
  • Find information
  • Evaluate information
  • Use information responsibly, including citation

Notice the tabs running across the top of this guide: they all correspond to each major assignment component you have in this class. Click on the appropriate tab to find recommend resources, research tips, and links to videos, websites, and presentations that will help you with research and citation for each assignment.

So if you have any questions at all about using the library, finding your sources, or citing them, don't hesitate to get in touch! There are lots of ways:

The LSC-CyFair Library building is closed until further notice.

Online References Services are available while we're closed.
