Biology Research Guide

Introduction

The Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) Committee has partnered with the library to create this LibGuide to foster writing in biology classrooms.

In biology, writing is necessary to expose students to the type of writing they will encounter in their careers. It helps to expand critical thinking, organize thoughts logically, and comprehend scientific literature. Since scientific writing requires evidentiary support, students also learn how to select appropriate references and cite their sources. Finally, students also learn to use appropriate scientific vocabulary, suitable paraphrasing, and sentence structure.

We hope you find the resources in this LibGuide helpful as you seek to improve your writing. Our writing tutor is available for one-on-one consultation when needed.
