Active Learning

Lone Star College-CyFair is committed to engaging students in the learning process through Active Learning Classrooms. Every student is encouraged to actively participate in the learning environment to build their own minds through creativity, innovation, problem solving, and synergy. That synergy is uniquely developed and best achieved when faculty and students work together with a primary goals of academic and student success. Create an original piece of artwork inspired by planetary images from NASA while learning about the Solar System.

Visit a carnival of fractions, geometry, measurement, and all things numerical!

Saturday, December 7th

12:30pm-1:30pm

Ages: 9-12 

Parents must accompany their children. 

Limit 25 per session
Tickets are free and will be distributed one hour in advance of the session in the Children's Library.

Get your ”drone”line rush during this stemtastic powerhour. Learn the basics behind
how a drone works and explore its many uses. Young scientists will use measurement
and basic coding to program a drone to fly through a mini-obstacle course.
Launch your mission and watch what your drone can do!


Pre-service teachers host this fun hands on learning event with the partnership of the Lone Star College-CyFair
Children’s Library.

Ages: 5-12

Limit 35 per session
Tickets are free and will be distributed one hour in advance of the session in the Children's Library.

Join us to experience Stemtastic Stations and explore topics in science, technology, engineering, and math. Pre-service teachers host this fun hands-on learning event with the partnership of the Lone Star College-CyFair Children's Library.

Take home exploration activities will be given to all participants! Parents must accompany their children.
