This guide is designed to help you get started on your Art and Art History research and writing.

About this Guide

This subject guide facilitates art research and writing for Lone Star College Cy-Fair students majoring in Art or those who are taking Arts Appreciation, Art History, or other Arts-focused electives.

This guide links to art and writing resources including: core art & art history databases; online resources including major reference works (encyclopedias, handbooks, dictionaries); digitized art collections; key portals to open access art resources; model assignments and guides for writing about art and art history. Model assignments used in this guide are provided by LSC- CyFair Professor Matthew Backer. 

LSC-CyFair students, faculty, and staff:  The library building is open seven days a week, and our student library services are offered in multiple synchronous and asynchronous formats. We encourage you to book a WebEx appointment with your liaison or subject librarian for assistance in using library resources or for any questions you may have about searching our databases and research and writing in the arts.
